Import a real credential
A badge you earned somewhere else can sit in your Sash wallet next to your parody ones. It arrives as an import: Sash shows the real issuer's name, hotlinks the issuer's own artwork and links back to the source. It is never redrawn in Sash's badge style, so a real credential and a parody one can never look like the same object.
What works, and what does not
- A badge URL is read by Sash's server, because badge platforms send no CORS headers and a browser cannot read them at all.
- A baked file works when the PNG or SVG genuinely carries an assertion inside it. Your browser opens it here; nothing is uploaded.
- The badge picture you can right-click and save is usually not baked. Credly's public badge image, for one, carries two ImageMagick timestamps and no badge data. Downloading that image and dropping it here finds nothing, and Sash says so rather than pretending.
- Sash reads one badge at a time, the one you point it at. It does not read your wallet, your profile or anyone's list of badges.
Pick a way in
For an issuer that publishes nothing a machine can read. A credential entered this way carries no issuer URL for Sash to check, so it stays labelled unverified for as long as it is in your wallet. That label is the honest one.
What Sash will save
This file carries no address for the credential and Sash stores one, so a
reader can follow the badge back to the issuer. Paste the https link to it.
